Losing a friend

To my oldest son…  death is such a tough concept at any age, but I think it is even tougher when it comes to a close friend, one who was so young.  Time won’t make it easier, just more numb.  Take comfort in knowing that your friend knew the Lord.  I know that won’t make it easier… right now.

Find comfort and be a comfort to your friends – they are suffering too.  Your mom and I will be here for you.  If you need to talk, cry, yell, whatever, come to us.

You will question so much including God – that is natural.  God is able to handle your questions, even your anger.   He loves you too much to respond to you in anger.  But in the end know that He is God and turn to Him for your full comfort.

Happy Birthday QP!

That’s right, someone is 1 year older today although I dare not say how old that might be.  To the mother of my children, the maker of my supper, cleaner of the house (ok, I’m being silly now), my best friend, and the lover of my life – have a wonderful and blessed birthday.

How much baseball can one take?

Plenty as long as you are winning ;)

Prince Hairy just finished playing at State this 4th weekend…  and they WON!  There were many exciting moments including which Prince Hairy hit his VERY FIRST HOME RUN!  And it was a 3-run home run at that.

Another exciting moment was in one play we managed to rack up 3 errors and 2 outs.  We decided that was a world’s record :)

I finally “decked” my wife

Ok – so that is not really true.  What I really did was finally agree that it was time to build a deck onto our house.  Our “back slab” was horribly cracked and was not very inviting.  So after several years of “hints” I finally agreed that we need a deck off the back of our house – and it is beautiful.  The workers did a WONDERFUL job.   If you are looking for a company to do work at your house, I would certainly recommend this company.  (send me a note and I will let you know who did it)    Let the outdoors party begin…   after I mow the yard :)

Let the noise begin

Ok – here is how it goes in this house now.  We are up three people playing guitars (Prince Valiant even has an electric one) and one playing drums.  “Sticks” (aka Prince Hairy) had his first drum lesson today.  We found this guy who teaches drums and about every guitar you could think of.  As we were trying to decide if we would go with him we found out that two young men who are currently located at far away places (I won’t mention the country) and were members of WM also took lessons from him.  I also found out that a co-worker of mine took lessons from him.  Needless to say, everyone spoke very highly of him so we were quite happy to manage to get lessons started with him.

So the noise begins…  It is not real discernable in the beginning but I am sure it will quickly switch to recognizable.  That is until I start to play… then it will go downhill ;)

If things are just too quiet at your house – come on over.  It won’t be here unless we aren’t home.
