Consider this, too: God existed when the universe did not. He is not just bigger and more powerful than we are; He is something completely other than what we are, completely other than anything else we know. Well, almost. He did make us in His image, so something about Him is familiar to us. But if God seems perplexing sometimes, it only stands to reason.
It is so encouraging to think that He values us enough to make us in His own image, and at the same time, it’s so terrifying to think of the responsibility that comes with that gift (a little like a teenager receiving a car). May God help us bear His image well!
Your addition is worthy to be pondered – thanks. It is impossible for us to fully grasp Him – but that shouldn’t stop us from trying!
