I would have to agree with much of what was stated on Drop and give me 20
When we lived in KC, we visited a friend’s church. It was a nice service – but that was about it. When we sang, there was no mention of Jesus. The word “God” was used in the songs in a manner which could have applied to any religion. The sermon was a “feel good” sermon. Yeah, you walk away feeling good about yourself – but did it challenge you to reflect on your walk with Jesus? Absolutely not!
Why are so many churches so afraid of this? It is said that the Gospel will offend – so why should we make it non-offensive? Do we really think that by making it non-offensive that people are being drawn to it? Well, yes. And being saved? I think not!
What I often see is that people are drawn to this teaching style and never being convicted such that they realize their sinful ways – they never realize that THEY NEED JESUS in their lives. They never realize that they need to be saved and made right with God. They never realize that God desires communion with us – but that cannot happen without surrendering our lives over to him.
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:21-24)
We have 2 choice: Obey the law and never break it or gain righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Unfortunately the first option is not possible since we “all have sinned and fall[en] short of the glory of God”.
Fortunately there is an “easy” solution.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Believe – that is all which is required. Sounds simple – but even the devil believes so what does “believe” really mean. It means to surrender your life over to God – to believe with your whole heart – to show your faith in Christ.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
The bad news is that we are ALL sinners. The good news is that Jesus paid the price for that sin by dying on the cross – for YOU! If you were the only person on this early, he would have done the same.

Oh I remember that … it was so, so, so, sweet that it made me wanna go brush my teeth. It was like the “chocolate bunny” in Veggie-Tales.
Matthew 7:13-14 reminds me of something I read on a shirt but since I can’t recall exactly what it stated I think I’ll go and find the shirt and ask for it for CHRISTmas. I’ll come back and blog about it.
bye-bye
